Fits right into the Sookie Stackhouse world without a blip, although I didn’t recognize any characters from that. Dec 20, Carolyn F. This is the story about the dancers that you see periodically in the Sookie books.
How they met, what happened to them. It’s a good story. I liked it because it takes place in the sookie realm it’s so easy to digest. It reads really fast, and it doesn’t feel like a short less than page book, and no lie I like it. A xancers It’s very “Bill and Sookie” like. A girl with a troubled past, changes her name and moves to a new town to get a fresh start meets a vampire who has never met anyone of the likes of her in many years.
His a bit of Really enjoyable. His a bit of the whole, “strong and silent” type with an Irish accent. And they fall in some serious like. He wants to save her and she is scared for her safety and all those all around her. It’s making me miss the Sookie Stackhouse books. The ending was kinda of predictable, but it was still an awesome story. Jul 19, Alba M. Supongo que me ha gustado tanto porque no era sobre Sookie ja, se nota mi odio hacia ella?
Dancers in the Dark / Layla Steps Up
Danncers sido una historia corta pero intrigante y muy muy bonita. Jul 30, Renae rated it really liked it. It was entertaining enough to keep me flipping pages and quickly at that and I thought it had a cute, if not predictable, ending. I liked the tie-in with the Sookie Stackhouse series of Sean and Layla at the hotel in Rhodes as performers.
I thought the writing was surprisingly good for a romance novella and the storyline had me hooked all the way to the end. Nov 29, Suz rated it liked it. I cared about the characters and could hxrris the conflict. It was nice to revisit characters from an earlier novel that I enjoyed. It even had some smexy. Feb 23, Vickie rated it it was amazing Shelves: I really liked this duo harrls novellas from Charlaine Harris.
I love both of those and this blend worked well. Not that any of the characters, that I know of, were here but the abused woman mirrored Lily and the vampired An alternate universe this time, I really liked this duo of novellas from Charlaine Harris.
An alternate universe this time, so more fantasy I guess than paranormal. It was filled with strong characters and interesting premise. I liked them both very much.
I can definitely recommend the stories and Charlaine Harris. Jul 21, Natasha rated it really liked it. This was a quick read and I enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed reading the True Blood series. It took less than a day to read, but for a short story the plot was quite good and there wasn’t too much uarris information, allowing dwncers easy flow towards the end.

Fun to visit the world of Sookie again. Because it was so short, I felt the romance was a little rushed and the plot more than a little predictable, but still a good read. Mar 18, Samantha rated it liked it. One of the few sookieverse shorts I hadn’t read. I enjoyed it and the ‘layla steps up’ short that came after, in the ebook I have Just the sort of story I felt like reading, and I remember these characters mentioned in the sookie books so it was nice to read their story: Romantic read I normally due not like romance genre, but this is the exception.
No long winded romantic descriptions. Jun 21, Kandice rated it liked it. Typical Southern Vamps for Charlaine Harris. I really enjoy these, but can’t call them great writing. They are a bit like a McDonald’s hamburger compared to a Donovan’s steak.
This won’t stop me from rolling right into Layla Steps Up though. Suspense Not enough suspense. Would have been more interesting with dialogue from Hutton as he hinterland stalked Layla. Jul 22, Jeanine rated it it was amazing Shelves: It was fun to go back to Sookie’s world for a few minutes. Mar 04, Sanam rated it it was amazing. Really good had everything in this short novella.
Apr 22, Torie rated it it was amazing Shelves: I loved this story. A crazy ex-boyfriend with a bad temper. She move to a new place. Starts a new life. Very short but very good. May 11, Viola rated it did not like it. Aug 13, Phylisha Stone rated it it was amazing. Loved sean and layla’s story.
Mar 18, Sally rated it it was ok. Rather slow moving story of obvious lust between traumatised woman and vamp. I was happy enough to be drawn back into the Sookie universe. To be honest I am one of those that hopes there will be more novels written in it because I enjoy it so much. The first story was the main reason I read this book, and while I found it very enjoyable it was a little bit light on plot.
I would like to see more from these two. The second story about the Britlingens almost felt disjointed from the universe by comparison, slipping almost entirely into a fantasy setting apart from the rest I was happy enough to be drawn back into the Sookie universe. The second story about the Britlingens almost felt disjointed from the universe by comparison, slipping almost entirely into a fantasy setting apart from the rest.
I can say that I enjoyed it enough to read it but it wasn’t the main draw and it took a bit to get into it.
